David Ray Gabel, age 61 died October 6, 2013 in Austin, TexasDave was born on October 27, 1951 in Dodge City Kansas. He was as solid asa rock with a kind heart. Over the past 28 years Dave was an amazing husband. He was a fair father with a great sense of humor. He never met a stranger nor spoke an unkind word. He loved hot food, westerns, old movies and riding his Harley motorcycles. Dave seemed to know everything. He received his latest degree this past May with a 4.0. As a last act of kindness he donated his beautiful blue eyes, so others might see.There will be a void where he stood, then silence. He was loved and will be missed.Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Shorty Gabel. He isSurvived by his wife Joy, daughters Katie Rae Gabel and Jessica L.Gabel and her fianc James Jennings, son Harley Gabel and brothers Dan and Kelly Gabel, sisters Kathy King and Debbie Cantaluppi.There will be cremation with no services.
