PILLO, Connie -

(February 22, 1933 to May 25, 2023)

It is with utter sadness and ultimate joy to celebrate the life well lived of Connie Pillo of 90 years on Thursday, May 25, 2023, passing peacefully in her sleep.

Connie was side by side for 68 years with her husband Vince Pillo celebrating their anniversary this past Tuesday. Loving mother of four daughters: Clare, Lou-Anne and David Rogers, Marie Peart and Jim Gaiger, Francy Pillo-Blocka and Dan Blocka; Nana to Chris and Jennifer, Rob and Jessica, Alicia and Andrew, Vince and Chloe, Madalena and Matthew and Great-Nan to Ellie & Kate, Russel & Eloise, Parker & Westley. Daughter of Franceso & Louisa Luciani, sister of Louie, Nicke, Mary and Angie.

Connie was a force who didn’t back down on any challenge especially regarding her health issues, on the tennis court or on the golf course. Nan always put family first, teaching her family what was important through her actions. She was an inspiration to all.

She was the proud and well deserved recipient of Tennis Canada’s Distinguished Service Award on August 9, 2022 for making a significant difference volunteering in junior development and envisioning and establishing the Ladies Windoor Tennis League that has grown over the past 40 years.

She was an awesome cook; a seasoned traveler with Vince; a lover of sports especially pro tennis and The Blue Jays. A testament to her full life of doing what was most important - being there for family and for others.

Resting at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue, Toronto (North of Rexdale Boulevard), on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 2 pm - 6 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 29, 2023 at 11am at Our Lady of Sorrows, 3055 Bloor St. West, Toronto. Interment to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers a donation could be made to the University Health Network (Sprott Department of Surgery) or CNIB. Online condolences at newediukfuneralhome.com
