Dorothy Kathern Cain, age 84, passed away surrounded by her family at home on May 24, 2023. She was born in Rockcastle County to the late William and Rena Croucher Cain. Dorothy loved flowers. She spent a lot of time gardening and sewing.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her siblings, Carroll Cain, James Henry Cain and Fannie Elizabeth Gadd, one grandchild, Chris Kerns, and one great grandchild, Damien Engle.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Lewis (Barbara) Vanwinkle, Lonnie Eugene (Ann) Vanwinkle, Eva Payne (Rodney Hasty) and Tina (James Ballard). Eighteen grandchildren, thirty-nine great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at Lakes Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 30th at 2pm. Burial will follow in the Scaffold Cane Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, May 29th from 5pm-8pm. Condolences can be left at www.lakesfuneralhome.com
