Auburn – Diane (Swain) Todd, 76 of West Paris, passed away at Androscoggin Hospice House on May 20th, after a long illness, surrounded by her family. Diane was born on March 19, 1947, to Roscoe and Bernice (Wescott) Swain. She graduated from Gould Academy in 1965. Diane married James E. Todd on July 21, 1968, and together they had two children, Jimmy, and Stacie. Her family has always been the center of her world.


Diane was a daycare provider and had a hair salon, “AZ U LYK IT” at her home in West Paris. She was a dispatcher for the fire department, Den Mother for the Cub Scout Pack, and softball coach for the local children. Diane also worked for many years at Oxford Savings Bank (TD Banknorth) as a Customer Service Representative. She enjoyed crocheting and crafting, as well as maintaining beautiful flowers and plants around her home. She loved to travel the coastline, smell the salt air, and take pictures of the beautiful scenery. Her quick wit, sassiness, and contagious laugh will be remembered by all who had the privilege of meeting her.


Diane is survived by her loving husband, James E. Todd; son James D. Todd and wife Kim of Hampden; daughter Stacie Brown of Ellsworth; grandchildren Justin Brown and Zack (Lindsay), AJ, Christopher & Mason Todd; sisters Charlene (Bud) Maginnis of Lawrence, MA and Leah (George) Desmet of Port St. Lucie, Fl.; sisters-in-law Polly Jordan of Bethel and Patty (Steve) Center of Scarborough; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


She was predeceased by her parents Bernice and Roscoe Swain; and son-in-law Alan Brown.


The family will hold a Going Away Party on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 1:00-3:00 pm at the Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris.
