Antoniette Gardner Obituary

Antoinette “Toni” Romeyn Gardner, 60, of Amsterdam, NY passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 surrounded by her family. Born on November 18, 1962 in Amsterdam, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Antoinette Leone Romeyn.

Toni attended local schools and graduated from Amsterdam High School in 1980, where she was crowned the Homecoming Queen. She then went on to attend Hudson Valley Community College, where she earned a degree in Radiologic Technology. Toni also was a graduate of Western Governor’s University obtaining her B.S. in Administration.

For several years she was employed by St. Mary’s Hospital, Albany Medical Center and later the Women’s Health Center in Niskayuna. In 2003 she along with her husband, Shane relocated to Portland, Oregon, where she was employed at Legacy Hospital as the Manager of the Ultrasound Department.

They later moved to Las Vegas where she was the Administrator of the Desert Radiology Imaging Center until her retirement.

Toni was always the life of the party, and the official party planner. She planned many trips and always made sure everyone was having a good time. She loved to travel to the Caribbean and Mexico, vacationing there many times. She loved the Oregon Coast, Carlos Santana and was an avid Yankees fan.

A diva to the end, she always did things her way. Throughout her lifetime she made many friends. These relationships were important to her and she always kept in touch. Although we know the world is a little darker with her passing, we are grateful for the time she spent with us and the good times we had. She will be missed and forever loved.

She was predeceased by her parents; her beloved husband, Shane Gardner; and their special canine, Nikki; and a brother-in-law, David Rafalik; a sister-in-law, Margaret Romeyn; and her mother-in-law, Jennie Gardner.

Survivors include her siblings, Linda Putman (Jim) of Broadalbin, NY, Joann Rafalik of Amsterdam, NY, Carol Peters (Bob) of Coronado, CA, Sandra Rouse (Jeff) of Amsterdam, NY, Jim Romeyn (Velma) of Hagaman, NY, Ella Romeyn (Fiancé Floyd Squires) of Rotterdam, NY; one sister-in-law, Lorraine Haldeman of Hagaman, NY; a special aunt, Angie Dasher of Colorado, Springs, NY; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.
