Dallas Cherokee Quick, 49 of Wiggins, lost her brief battle with cancer Wednesday morning, passing away at West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, LA. She was born on December 29, 1973 in Union City, IN, the second of four children and the only daughter to Bobby Gene, Sr. and Parepa Kay (O'Dell) Pouder. Dallas grew up between Watonga, OK and Newark, OH. She was an outdoors tomboy and loved to ride horses. Her family lived in the country where she also raised rabbits, chickens, puppies, and two of her brothers to boot. Dallas attended schools in both states, graduating from high school in Ohio. She worked as a high school student and on through college, earning her associates degree in computer programming, all while raising her five children. Dallas eventually grew tired of the colder weather and decided to move South. Her and her father landed in Wiggins, and have called it home since 2015. Dallas worked for Murphy Oil Co., managing the gas station at Walmart in Wiggins, where she made many friends along the way. She enjoyed her kids, but those grandchildren were closest to her heart. She loved camping and going to Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans, when she wasn't working of course. She had a love for the Cescent City, often visiting with her brother. Her life wasn't an easy one, but Dallas made the most of every day and enjoyed it to the fullest. She will be sadly missed by all whose life she touched. She was preceded by her mother, Parepa O'Dell Pouder, and a sister-in-law, Mary Pouder. Left to cherish her memories are her children: sons Raven Klintworth, Michael Pouder, Storm Matthews and Christopher Woodman, with her daughter Apparittia Matthews; her loving father Bob Pouder of Wiggins, and her brothers Bobby, James, and Chad Pouder. Dallas leaves a legacy of seven grandchildren, Xavior Toller, William Pouder, Camron Mann, Tucker Woodman, Broddie Mann, Chloe Klintworth, and Jackson Mann, and she loved them all dearly, along with several extended family and many friends. Her final wishes were to be cremated, which her family is honoring, with a celebration of her life to be held at a later date.
