Edward S. Worlund Obituary

Edward Simon Worlund, 80 years old, of Vesper, WI passed away on Wednesday May 24, 2023 surrounded by his family.

Visitation will be from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids.

Edward was born November 15, 1942 in Wisconsin Rapids to Leonard and Inez Worlund. He attended school at the Red Brick School House and Rudolph High School. He was confirmed at Bethany Lutheran Church in Sigel.

He joined the National Guard in 1961, where he proudly served his country for 6 years. He belonged to the American Legion Post 520 Vesper where he was the Adjutant for more than 30 years.

Ed was happily married to Susan for 41 years. Together they had 3 children. Previously, he was married to Donna. They had 4 children and their marriage ended in divorce.

He worked all of his life doing carpentry and remodeling jobs. He was very proud of any and all the work he did; except for the cabinet door he made in his own kitchen, which to this day no one can find the mistake.

Some of Ed’s greatest moments were spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his great hair, his smile, always having humor and for being “nice”. His craftsmanship will continue to shine through by the many works he produced for family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Susan, his 7 children, and 17 grandchildren. Their names are as follows: Lori of Wisconsin Rapids, Marie (Donald) of Vesper, Tina (Andy) of Wisconsin Rapids, Ellen of Billings MT, Chris (Jim) of Pittsville, Tom (Mary) of Vesper and Karen (Jake) of Neillsville.

Also his many grandchildren: April (Ezekiel), September, Jesse, Angela (Tom), Donald Jr (Julie), Symone (Donavan), Andilyn, Ivy (Shawn), Brennan, Bailey, Nicole (Tom), Scott (Chase), Skye (Reese), Mason, Jennifer, Ryan, and Katie.

Great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Caroline, Olivia, Sarah, Oliver, Bonnie, Kairi, Ethan, Dakota, Elliot, Arlo, Noah, and Grant.

He is also survived by sister-in-laws Joy Worlund, Peggy Durkee, Julie Kraus (Pete). Brother-in-law Erv Durkee. Also by his many “Brothers” Donald, Gary, Wayne, Keith, and Ronald. And many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother Marvin Worlund, In-laws Ted and Lucille Boschma, Brother-in-law Ed and many aunts and uncles.

He will be greatly missed by the ones left behind. He is sweetly with Jesus now and the memories made here with family and friends will not be forgotten. We will forever remember him saying: “I told you I was sick”!
