<p>James Russell "Rusty" Culbreth </p><p>Retired US Air Force MSGT James Russell Culbreth, 76, husband of Ronnie Culbreth, of Summerville, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2023. </p><p>Rusty was born in Landrum, South Carolina on July 12, 1946. He was the son of James Wall Culbreth and Bonita Parker Culbreth. &nbsp;He was a flight engineer in the United States Air Force for 20+ years. &nbsp;Afterwards, he worked at a sporting goods store and did construction. &nbsp;He enjoyed working on engines, hunting, fishing, and having vegetable gardens, horses, and chickens. &nbsp;Rusty was a devoted husband and father. </p><p>He is survived by his wife, Ronnie Lee Winstead Culbreth; his daughter, Catherine Marie Culbreth; his brother John Culbreth, and his sisters, Jennie Culbreth Gardner, Doris Culbreth Stott, and Verna Culbreth Peace. Rusty was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Culbreth Wofford. </p><p>The relatives and friends of James "Rusty" Culbreth are invited to attend his Funeral Service at 11:30 AM, Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Parks Funeral Home Chapel, 130 W. 1st North Street, Summerville, SC 29483. The family will receive friends from10:30 until the time of service. A graveside service&nbsp; will be held&nbsp; at &nbsp;12:00pm Friday, May 26, 2023 in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Landrum, South Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project. </p>

Rusty was born in Landrum, South Carolina on July 12, 1946.
