Gerald Eugene Miller, II age 69 Of Harriman passed away Tuesday morning, May 23, 2023 following a courageous battle with cancer. Jerry as he was known by his family and friends was born in Anchorage, Alaska to Gerald Eugene and Edith Mae (Herrin) Miller. A military family, the Millers moved a time or two and Jerry graduated high school in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He entered the US Army and served his Country in Vietnam where he was awarded the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm bronze star medal. During his tenure in the army he was stationed in Ft. McClellan, Alabama followed by a stint in the 97th Army Hospital in Frankfort, Germany then finally the Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver. Jerry landed in Florida where he spent 20 years working with the South Bay Growers; and another 18 years with the Hydraulic Supply Co. as the SE Regional Sales and Repair Manager with 5 of those years spent in the Knoxville area. Jerry enjoyed spending his retirement years in E. TN with wife Diana. Together they enjoyed the outdoors on the Horse Farm in Harriman. He got involved in rescuing Chihuahuas. He enjoyed fishing and skeet shooting as well as motorcycle riding until his health would no longer allow for it. He fought well, right up until the end.


Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Eugene Miller. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Diana (Welty) Miller, Harriman; daughter and son-in-law, Jeri Lynn Miller-Lariscey (Brad), Ft. Pierce, FL; son, Danny Lee Miller, Harriman; granddaughter, Makayla Lynn Miller, Harriman; mother, Edith M. Miller, Philadelphia; sister and brother-in-law, Karen and Jay Johnson, Philadelphia; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Alline Miller, Schererville, IN; several nieces and nephews.


Services honoring and remembering Jerry Miller will be held 2:30 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2023 in McGill Click Chapel with Rev. Richard Everett and Rev. Tony Arnold officiating.


Interment to follow in New Steekee Cemetery with military honors provided by the US Army and the Loudon County Veterans Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers are his son, Danny Miller; son-in-law, Brad Lariscey and special nephews, LeeJay Johnson and Jesse Johnson.


The family will receive friends 1:00 – 2:30 PM prior to the service at McGill Click Funerals & Cremations, 1366 Hwy 72 N, Loudon.
