<p>Kerry Shawn Hatcher was born on April 26th, 1963 in Medina, Ohio to his parents Eudell and Alice Marie (Kester) Hatcher. He passed away unexpectedly on May 22nd, 2023 in Beckley, West Virginia at the young age of 60.<br> <br> Kerry leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving children; Jonathan (Amanda) Hatcher of Boston, Virginia and Shawna (Sean) Lawmaster of Christiansburg, Virginia; mother of their children, Lisa Michelle (Pack) Hatcher of Christiansburg, Virginia; mother Alice Paugh of Daniels, WV, brother Jack (Denise) E. Hatcher of Beckley; sisters Debbie Lilly of Daniels and Kimberly Wood of Metalton, WV; fiance' Kathy Horton of MacArthur, WV; step-brothers Michael ( Andrea) Paugh of Sugarland, TX, Joe (Sue) Paugh of Tuscon, AZ, Kevin (Lora) Paugh of Mechanicsville, MD; step-sister Darlene (Chuck) Griffith of Manassas, VA, nephews, James (Tracy) Lilly of Mullens, WV, Aaron Lilly of Metalton, WV, Todd (Cassie) Hatcher and their son Levi of Mabscott, WV, nieces, Amanda Hatcher of Beckley, WV and Tiffany (Josh) Acord of Fairdale, WV; great-nephew, Caleb Evans of Summersville, WV, and many extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. Kerry is preceded in death by his father Eudell Hatcher, niece Erica Lilly, and his step-father Ernest Robert Paugh.<br> <br> Kerry was known to many as a true outdoorsman who loved to spend his time fishing and hunting with his children. Kerry was one of the most accomplished fisherman in southern WV and known by all who frequented Lake Stephens. His greatest accomplishment was the record Muskie caught in 1994. Kerry passed down all his hunting and fishing knowledge to his children, finding joy in each day spent with them. Kerry found his love for the outdoors at a young age when he would venture to Beaver creek with his brother, Jack, as a reward from a hard days work in the garden. Kerry could liven any room and didn't know a stranger. You always knew he would have a joke prepared for each person. Kerry was a skilled craftsman in everything he pursued. He was a magnet to every animal in sight and could tame a wildebeest. Even the meanest dogs would become Kerry's shadow. He left big shoes no one will be able to fill. If anyone ever needed Kerry, he would be there in no time at anytime.<br> <br> A memorial celebration of Kerry's life will be held 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 25th, 2023 at the Melton Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Jacob Pack and Pastor Andy Davis officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation 2 hours prior.
