Joyce D. DeLaruelle, 96, of Mishawaka, IN., passed away at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023, at Elkhart Place Assisted Living.

Joyce was born on April 1, 1927, in White Plains, KY., to Leonard and Addie (Hanks) Whitfield. On January 23, 1982, in Mishawaka, Joyce married Charles Duane DeLaruelle. Charles preceded her in death on August 29, 2016.

Joyce is survived by her children; Donna Hughes of Osceola, IN and Harold (Sandie) Duncan of Brownstown, MI., six grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren. Joyce was also preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings; Mary Williams, Wilford Whitfield, Delbert Whitfield, Charlie Whitfield and Hubert Whitfield.

Joyce retired from Uniroyal and was a member of Osceola United Methodist Church.

Services for Joyce will be on Wednesday, May 31, at 1:00 p.m. at the Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka where a visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Pastor Leroy Wise will officiate the services. Entombment will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
