Sproul Obituary </p><p><br></p><p>Richard (Dick) Stanley Sproul, 82, of Swanville, died on May 17, 2023 due to acute illnesses. </p><p><br></p><p>Dick was born on May 15, 1941 to Stanley and Georgia (Burrill) Sproul in Brewer, ME. After graduating from Crosby High School in 1960, he graduated from Nasson College in 1964 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. </p><p><br></p><p>Out of college, he worked as an executive for many years at American Mutual Insurance Co. in Wakefield, MA and later, was owner/CEO of Sproul Dry Cleaners and Laundry; a family owned business headquartered in Rockland, ME. </p><p><br></p><p>Over his lifespan, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, snowmobiling and camping in his RV; especially in the North Maine Woods. He was also a dog lover and his favorite longtime companion was a Chocolate Lab named Oreo. </p><p><br></p><p>Dick was predeceased by his parents and his sister Elizabeth. He is survived by his son Dwight, his wife Kelly and their children, Kate and Jordan; son David; nieces Beverly and Cathy; grandnephew Denis; ex-wives Judith Jordan Hennemann and Winnie Lytton. </p><p><br></p><p>A private celebration of life memorial will be held at the lake later this summer for family and friends. Memories and condolences may be shared on his tribute wall.</p>
