Carlous "C.L." L Burris Obituary

C. L. Burris, 87, of Russellville, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023, at his home in Russellville, Arkansas. He was born on June 16, 1935, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Carlous and Cecil Pearl Mundis Burris. C. L. Burris attended Arkansas Tech University and served as a United States Navy Veteran during the Vietnam War. Professionally, he worked as an Electrician and Instructor with ANO.

C. L. Burris was known for his numerous accomplishments, which included being a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He actively participated in various organizations throughout his life. He was a member of the Russellville Arkansas Masonic Lodge #274, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 505, and a perpetual member of Masonic Lodge #213 in Dardanelle. He also served as a past member of the Scimitar Shrine Temple and the Scimitar Shrine Clown Unit. His faith was an important part of his life, and he was a member of the Grace Baptist Church.

Outside of his professional and community involvement, C. L. Burris enjoyed several hobbies and activities, including running, bicycling, swimming, and travel. He had a passion for square dancing and cherished spending time with his family and friends.

C. L. Burris was preceded in death by his wife, Pamelia Ann Burris, and his parents. He is survived by his daughter, Angelia Ann Lyons of Russellville, and two sons, Carlous L. Burris Jr. (Monique) and Frank E. Burris (Tracey), both of Russellville. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A family-led memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at Grace Baptist Church, with Bro. Roger Pearce and Bro. Danny Paul officiating. A private committal service will take place at the new Chapel of Light at the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center, arranged by Humphrey Funeral Service. Those who wish to honor C. L.
