Maurice Lawrence Raymond Obituary

Maurice Lawrence Raymond, passed away on May 22, 2023 at the age of 100, in Howell, Michigan.


Maurice was born on April 21, 1923 in Brownsburg P. Q., Canada to Napoleon and Mirza Raymond.


Maurice was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army serving in the Infantry. Maurice retired from Ford Motor Company after working as a Steel Cutter and was also a member of the United Auto Workers Union. In his free time Maurice was an avid Detroit sports fan and loved cheering for the Red Wings and the Tigers. Maurice also enjoyed fishing, and hunting for deer, rabbit, and pheasant. Most important to Maurice was spending time with his family. He was greatly admired by his family and will forever be a hero to them.



Maurice married the love of his life Harriet in 1945. They enjoyed 62 wonderful years together before her passing.


He was preceded in death by his son Roger Raymond, son-in-law Wayne Williams, and great-granddaughter Amber Williams.


He is survived by his children Barbara (Frank) Melick, Gloria Williams, Marilyn (Kevin) Olrich, William (Brenda) Raymond, and Teresa (Michael) Mead.


Maurice was Grandpa (Papa) to 13 grandchildren; Karen (Mike) Maiuri, Paul Raymond, Allen (Holly) Melick, Frank Melick, Tammy (John) Smith, Ken Williams, Steven (Andrea) Broaddus, Jason Olrich, Amanda Raymond, Brian Raymond, Corey (Dana) Mead, Samantha Stos, and Sean (Kaylee) Mead.


He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; Mackenzie Maiuri, Allen (Amber) Melick II, Tenley (Chas) Legue, Donith VanCamp, Justin (Brittany) Melick, Todd Melick, Devan Melick, Shelby Smith, David (Monica) Smith, Matthew Broaddus, Ryan Broaddus, Evan Broaddus, Braelyn Mead, Hadley Mead, and Colton Stos, and great-great grandfather to 10.


Maurice was one of 10 children and leaves behind his dear sister Claire Pelletier.
