Dr. Marvin Richeal, 95, of DeWitt, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Senior Star at Elmore Place in Davenport.

A Service of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, at Grace Lutheran Church in DeWitt, with Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m., the Rev. Eric Obermann officiating. Burial will be at the Rock Island National Cemetery.

Marvin Limbert Richeal was born February 21, 1928, to Marvin and Frances (Bovard) Richeal in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. He attended Dickinson College in Carlisle Pennsylvania, and then Northwestern University Dental School in Chicago. While there, he met the love of his life. He graduated in 1952 with a D.D.S. and married Mardonna J. Dalchow on August 10th of that year. Marvin served 30 months in the U.S. Air Force as a Captain in the Dental Corp at Maxwell A.F.B. in Montgomery, Alabama. Following his discharge in 1954, the couple settled in Maquoketa, Iowa, joining Mardonna’s father in his dental practice. In 1976, Marvin opened his own practice in DeWitt, along with his wife as his part-time hygienist. The couple traveled the world together, taking 12 Windjammer cruises in the Caribbean, and many overseas excursions. Marvin had private and commercial pilot licenses and enjoyed flying coast-to-coast to dental conventions with Mardonna, and home to New Jersey to visit family. He retired from his dental practice in 2000. Mardonna preceded him in death in 2013.

He is survived by his children, Marvin “Mitch” (Deb) Richeal of Eagle, Idaho, Kevin (Lisa) Richeal of Palm Coast, Florida, and Kathryn “Kathy” (Craig) Mack of Hampton, Illinois; grandchildren, Cody (Rebecca) Richeal, Amanda (Aaron Zuniga) Richeal, Ryan Marik, Ryan Mack, Kyla (Jason) Anderson, KJ Glentz, Rick (KayDean) Bott, and Randy Bott; 8 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Irma Richeal, and Christine Owen; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Lee, daughter, Sharon Diane, and foreign exchange daughter, Monica of Bolivia.

The family would like to thank the staff at Senior Star at Elmore, and Genesis Hospice, for the loving care provided to Marvin.
