Ronald Wayne “Ronnie” Snead, age 67, of Douthat Road, Clifton Forge, Virginia passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023.


He was born on July 12, 1955 in Clifton Forge, Virginia to the late Johnnie Wentworth Snead, Sr., and Naomi Nicely Snead. He was a retired conductor for the CSX Railroad and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors where he loved to camp, fish and hunt. Ronnie looked forward every Sunday to his truck rides with his brother and his son.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnnie Snead, Jr.; and a nephew, Craig Javins.


He is survived by his daughter, Amanda Snead and boyfriend, Bert Hoke; a son, Anthony “Tony” Snead all of Clifton Forge; a sister, Ann Webb and husband, Jerry of Covington; two brothers, Douglas Snead and wife, Theresa of Clifton Forge and Timmy Snead and wife, Nanette of Oak Harbor, WA; the mother of his children, Connie Snook; and his nieces and nephews, Brian, Kimberly, Kevin, Katrina, Brittany, Brooke, Bryar, Zach, and Julie.


A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at 11:00AM in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Mr. Buddy Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Baptist Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Pallbearers will be Milton Deeds, Timmy Dressler, Bill Adkins, Mike Carter, Buddy Buchanan, David Buchanan and Nicholas Puffinbarger. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
