Mary E. Schlotman, age 61, of Independence, passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Wilson County Medical Center in Neodesha, KS. 

A memorial graveside celebration of life and inurnment will be held 11 AM, Saturday, June 3rd, 2023, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence with Pastor Eldon Myers officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution on behalf of the family may be made to Zach Webb Family Funeral Service, 1475 S. 10th, Independence, KS  67301

Mary Ellen Schlotman was born December 6, 1961, in Tempe, AZ, to Floyd and Helen Irene (Bellis) Baxter. She lived in Phoenix and Taylor, AZ, before moving and attending school in Independence. On February 14, 1990, she married Dennis Schlotman and he passed away on October 3, 1993. She had worked at Baxter Pallet Co., Emerson, Microtel and Prestige. She loved to spend her time being grandma and tending to her flower beds. 

Survivors of Mary Schlotman include:  Her sons, Chris Scholman and Scotty Quisenberry of Independence, KS. Two grandchildren, Nalijah Schlotman and Chris Schlotman, Jr., both of Independence, KS. Siblings; Donna Baxter, Bob Baxter and Janet Coatney, all of Independence, KS. Nieces and nephews, Matt Baxter, Kayla Long, Amber Christopher and Morgan Baxter. Numerous extended family. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Dennis Schlotman, and sisters, Tina Baxter and Diane Campbell.

The family of Mary Schlotman has entrusted the arrangement of the services to Zach and Dee Webb of locally owned Zach Webb Family Funeral Service of Independence.
