<p>Eddie "Duane" Benham passed away peacefully at home in Fairbanks, Alaska, with his family by his side.<br> <br> Duane was born in Park Rapids, Minnesota, and was the second of five children born to Ed and Thora Benham.<br> <br> The family then moved to Deer River, Minnesota, where he graduated in 1957. Duane joined the Air Force and was stationed at Bitburg Air Base, Bitburg, Germany, where he met his future wife, Anneliese (Anna) Becker, and were married in 1964. They then welcomed their son, Dennis, in 1964. The family then moved back to Deer River, Minnesota, before moving the family to Fairbanks, Alaska, in 1969. In 1979, they welcomed their daughter, Lisa, in Fairbanks, Alaska.<br> <br> Duane spent many years in the trucking industry, working for H&amp;S Warehouse, United Van Lines, Continental/Allied Van Lines, Sig Wold Moving, Timberline Trucking and Crowley/ Northland Services.<br> <br> Duane enjoyed photography, spending time with his family, and loved to carry on a conversation with anyone.<br> <br> Duane is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anna (Anneliese); son, Dennis (Liz); grandchildren, Diana, Duane, Darren; great-grandkids, Courtnee, Caleb, Chloe, Lilyana, Destinee, Delilah and Darren Jr.; daughter, Lisa; and grandson, Aidan and Grayson and four-legged friend; sisters, Jean Mattila, Judy Heathman, Terry Tyler; brother, Rod Benham; and leaves behind many extended family.<br> <br> He is preceded in death by his parents and great-grandson, Camren, and numerous family members.<br> <br> A celebration of life will be noon to 4 p.m. June 17, 2023, at Growden Park Pavilion. Eddie "Duane" Benham passed away peacefully at home in Fairbanks, Alaska, with his family by his side.
