Wayne Raymond Lang Obituary

Wayne Raymond Lang of Brandon, Mississippi, departed this world to be in heaven with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on May 17, at the age of 67. Comforted by his faith, Wayne was grateful for the life he was blessed with on earth and the peace he found in the promise of eternal life to come. Wayne was born in Joliet, Illinois, a neighboring community of Chicago, on April 13, 1956. At the age of 5, Wayne’s family moved to Temple Terrace, Florida, where Wayne enjoyed a carefree childhood. Subsequently, in 1967 Wayne’s family moved to Clarksville, Tennessee. where Wayne was a dedicated student. Wayne particularly enjoyed the sciences. Wayne attended Austin Peay University in Clarksville where he majored in biology. Wayne also attended Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi. In 2009, Wayne met the love of his life, Kimberly Ann “Kim” Artman. Wayne and Kim were married in Jackson in May of 2010. Wayne and Kim lived out their faith together as members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Brandon, Mississippi.

Wayne loved people and was one to encourage and support his many friends when they experienced difficulties or challenges in life. He also had a wonderful sense of humor and was one who enjoyed kidding his friends when they were becoming too serious on matters that were not important. After spending many years as a store manager of Piggly Wiggly in Jackson, Wayne discovered that his real vocational joy was in Sales and Customer Service. Until his retirement, Wayne found this enjoyment as a Senior Sales Manager at Miskelly’s in Madison, Mississippi. As a Senior Sales Manager, Wayne made it his goal to not only meet his customers’ needs but to exceed them and as a result was often the top Manager in Sales at Miskelly’s

Wayne was blessed by and survived by his family who loved him dearly, including stepdaughter Kelsey Hankins (Zachery) and grand-daughters Riley Grace and Aly Claire of Monroe, Louisiana, stepson Jake Artman of Vicksburg, Mississippi, sisters Gloria Lindemann (Michael) of Denton, Maryland and Carol Matz (William) of Atlanta, Georgia, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kimberly Ann Lang of Brandon, Mississippi, and his parents, Ray E. Lang and Florence C. Lang of Dundee, Illinois.
