Clyde Wesley 'Bud' Meador, age 77, of Elk City, passed away Thursday, May 18, 2023, at his home. 

A memorial graveside celebration of life will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Oak Hill Cemetery, Elk City, KS, with military graveside rites by local veteran's organizations. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions my be made to the Elk City Global Methodist Church, and sent to Zach Webb Family Funeral Service, 1475, S. 10th, Independence, KS  67301.

Bud Meador was born February 12, 1946, in Quincy, IL, to Tony and Dorothy Mae (Latham) Meador. The family moved to Colorado. As a teen, he was a mechanic for Bob Dickey in Durango, CO, while working nights at Woods Beanery loading trucks. Bud joined the US Army from 1964 to 1967. He moved to Elk City in 1967 and worked for Bob Faler, and later Barton Saw Mill and USCSI delivery rock. Bud eventually got his own truck line with his '67 Peterbilt and logged over two million miles. 

On October 2, 1969, he married Janeice Bowers and she survives at the home. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW and Elk City Global Methodist Church. He loved to tinker, his dog and his garden. 

Survivors of Bud Meador include:  His wife, Janeice Meador of the home. Son, Christopher Meador, Elk City, KS, and Darlene High, our special little girl. Ten siblings, Sandy, Gary, Terry, Wink, Junior, Tim, Vicki, Jackie, Margie and Martin. Many members of extended family.  

He was preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother and his sister, Kay.

The family of Clyde Meador has entrusted the arrangement of the services to Zach and Dee Webb of locally owned Zach Webb Family Funeral Service of Independence, KS.
