Obituary

Christine Trombly, 78, of Silver City passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, May 17, 2023. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca’s Funeral Chapels. Service arrangements are pending.

An eternity with God cannot be put into words but, for those she left behind, words to express her are ‘loving’, ‘giving’, ‘playfulness’, ‘Holy Spirit-filled kindness’ and ‘loved the Lord with much passion and devotion’.

If not for a simple spark at a drive-in theatre between her and her husband, David, there would not have been a celebration of four children: Suzette, David Jr., Daniel, and Dennis.   In addition to the four children, David Sr. and Christine welcomed their niece and nephew at an early age, Tina and Tommy Trombly, who lost their father in a motorcycle accident.  Through many trials and tribulations, including the loss of Daniel to cancer in 2015, David Sr. and Christine Trombly celebrated 59 years of wedded bliss and devotion to God.

The family tree has taken root around the globe. Suzette Carrel-Geer of Texas, her son, James and wife Lori of New Mexico, celebrate the life of Christine’s two great grandchildren, Kaidence and Maddison.  David Trombly Jr. resides in Michigan.  Daniel Trombly shall find a final resting place in New Mexico. Dennis and Irene Trombly of Texas of whom Dennis’ son’s, Dustin and Jonas reside in Michigan and Sweden, respectively.

Fond memories of playing the card game Euchre and the dice game Farkle for hours were fitting for the sign in the family dining room that reads, “Sit Long, Talk Much”.  All were welcomed at the dining room table, and no one would leave hungry.  She always made the best of any situation and made a difference in everyone’s life for the better.

Her life on earth reminds us of the bible verse, Romans 8:28 which reads, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”   God’s purpose is beyond comprehension, Christine’s purpose was abundant and shall forever carry fond memories for those left behind.  We can bow our heads and honor her life for she shall rise up and celebrate life with Jesus.
