Blake S. Emery Obituary

Easton- Blake Emery, 28, son of Wendy Emery, passed away peacefully on May 15, 2023, at the Aroostook House of Comfort, surrounded by family. He was born on September 15, 1994, in Presque Isle, ME. Having been raised solely by his mother, Wendy has always been Blake’s strongest advocate. Even when doctors were unsure, Wendy never gave up.

Blake was a beautifully precious soul who taught many individuals about the gift of life and the true meaning of love. He had the most amazing smile. Blake also had the happiest belly laugh that managed to light up the darkest of days and made everyone around him feel his joy.

He loved listening to music, especially Shania Twain’s music. Several years ago, when Blake received a Make a Wish, an artist came to Blake’s house and hand-painted a mural of Shania on the wall of his bedroom.

Blake was a warrior who fought every obstacle he faced, despite all odds. Blake’s life was one miracle after another, overcoming many, many medical challenges. Blake had an extremely strong will and showed all of us what a strong young man he was.

In addition to his mother, Wendy, Blake is survived by his sister Tori Harvath, her fiancé Corey Belanger, Blake’s very special niece Alyvia and Blake’s brother Alexander Harvath, his wife Layla, his Uncle Christopher Emery, grandparents Delma and Roderic Emery; his biological grandmother, Vanessa Higgins and great grandmother, Kay Higgins, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, and half siblings. Blake had a very strong support system which started with his family.

Blake was cared for by a great number of medical professionals throughout his life, many of whom became as close as family. Blake’s family would like to thank all the medical professionals who cared for him, with special thanks going to Dr. Peter Morningstar, Dr Renee Fournier, Morgan Flewelling, Thomas Brady, Leslie Wheaton, Kelly Robichaud, Allison Plummer and all the caring staff at the Aroostook House of Comfort.

Blake has had some very extraordinary case managers who deserve a big thank you, Duska Day and Jamie Cleary, as well as his former physical therapist and friend, Nancy Griffin. A very special thanks goes out to Jennifer Robichaud, Jodale Lagasse and Jessica Haley for always being there for Blake and Wendy.

There will be a Christian service at the Washburn Pentecostal Church to celebrate Blake, on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 2pm with visiting hours at the church, beginning at 1pm. Friends and family are invited to attend.
