It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic death of Daniel Timothy Lawrence Swintak, 49 years of Dauphin, MB.  Dan died tragically as a result of a motorcycle accident near Russell, MB on Monday, May 15, 2023

Dan will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his partner Tanya Dalgarno (her boys Douglas and Daniel); his mother Veronica Swintak, his sister Theresa (Mark) Gnutel; brother Greg (Tracey) Swintak, nieces Kasia and Tiana; brother-in-law Ken (Holly) Plustwa, nephews Nathan (Jessie-May) and Shawn (Brooke); and many other relatives and friends.  He will also be missed by Violet and Kuirsten Cutforth, Cynthia and Savana Prawdzik.

Dan was predeceased by his son Christopher Swintak (2023), his sister Cynthia Plustwa (2004), and his father Peter Swintak (2005).

Dan was intertwined in many parts of the Dauphin and surrounding communities and was kind to all those who knew him.  He enjoyed bowling, camping, driving his motorcycle and just hanging out with his many friends.

Dan loved his son Christopher and always tried to do the best for him.  In the earlier years as a single father he changed his job from driving long haul to working for Pratt’s where he was able to drive within Manitoba and be home for his son each evening. 

Over the years he was involved with Chris’s activities including becoming an officer with the Dauphin Air Cadets where he was able to be a positive influence to many young Cadets.  In 2022 he travelled with Chris to Egypt where they created many memories.  He was also involved with the grad planning committee.

Growing up Dan acquired wall to wall trophies for his bowling accomplishments and has inspired others with his passion for bowling.

Dan Swintak of Dauphin, Manitoba passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at the age of 49 years.

Prayers will be offered on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 7:00 pm from the Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin, with visitation to follow.

A Funeral Service will be held for Dan on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:00 am from the Sneath-Strilchuk Family Care Centre in Dauphin with The Very Rev. Mark Gnutel officiating, with luncheon following the service.
