Carl Owen "Sam" Swaffer

<p>Carl Owen Swaffer (Sam), aged 93, of Dartmouth passed away on May 16th, 2023 at Dartmouth General Hospital, NS.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Dartmouth, he was the son of Carl and Margaret Swaffer.</p><p><br></p><p>Sam was an avid golf player for many years starting at Brightwood and Oakfield, and in Florida over the years, he won many awards with 6 holes in one’s, the last on September 30, 2021 at Montague at the age of 92. He also played ball and was inducted into the Maritime Hall of Fame for the championship in 1957, where he played with the team, Dartmouth Marine Union Seniors softball. Over the years he worked with Kellogg’s, Nielson and retired from having his own business in 1984.</p><p><br></p><p>Sam is survived by his common-law wife, Lenore MacLeod of 29 years. </p><p><br></p><p>He was predeceased by his first wife, Mary Chaffney Swaffer.</p><p><br></p><p>A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday May 23, 2023 at 2:00pm in St. Lukes Anglican Church, Veterans Avenue, Dartmouth with Rev. Matthew Sponagle officiating. Followed by a Reception in Brightwood Golf &amp; Country Club. Interment at a later date in Mount Hermon.</p><p><br></p><p>Family flowers only, memorial donations may be made to Dartmouth General Hospital or St. Lukes Anglican Church or a charity of your choice. I wish to thank the staff in Emergency at Dartmouth General Hospital for the wonderful care. </p><p><br></p><p>Sam &amp; Lenore spent 26 years going to Florida for six months.</p>

Carl Owen Swaffer (Sam), aged 93, of Dartmouth passed away on May 16th, 2023 at Dartmouth General Hospital, NS.


Born in Dartmouth, he was the son of Carl and Margaret Swaffer.
