<p>LIVESTREAM LINK - CLICK HERE</p><p><br></p><p>Mary A. Whitty, 86, died May 16, 2023 in Bangor after a brief illness. She was born July 9, 1936 in Bangor, the daughter of Hugh F. Whitty, Sr. and Anna E. (Ambrose) Whitty. Mary was a lifelong resident of Bangor and worked for New England Telephone for many years in various capacities including operator and supervisor and she was a lifelong member of the Telephone Pioneers. Mary was also a lifelong communicant of St. John’s Catholic Church and served in many areas of church life. She was a member of the Women’s Council of St. John’s Catholic Church and was a member of the current events club.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving are one brother, James Whitty and his wife, Helene of Bangor; a sister-in-law, Virginia of Santa Rosa, CA; several nieces and nephews including Cathy Kingsbury, Beth Davis, Michelle Taylor, Tracy Azavedo, Gail Allard and Lucille Neill. She was predeceased by two brothers, Hugh Whitty and John Whitty and by two sisters, Teresa Whitty and an infant sister, Mary.</p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends may visit 4 to 6 pm Friday, May 19, 2023 at Kiley &amp; Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Saturday, May 20, 2023 at St. Paul the Apostle Parish, St. John’s Catholic Church, York St., Bangor and will be livestreamed HERE . Burial will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Bangor. A reception time will be afterward in the parish center. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul the Apostle Parish Building Improvement Fund, 217 York St., Bangor, ME 04401 or to All Saints School, PO Box 1749, Bangor, ME 04402-1749.
