Jeanne R. Eaton, age 94, of McHenry, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Alden Terrace of McHenry, with her family by her side. She was born July 1, 1923 in Chicago to Joseph and Santina (Michelini) Giannini. On March 3, 1943 she married the love of her life, Earlen W. Eaton Jr. in St. Mary’s Church in Evanston. Jeanne grew up in Evanston, attended St. Mary’s Parish, and graduated from Marywood Academy. In 1955, she moved to the Dunhurst subdivision of Wheeling and were original founding members of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. Jeanne taught many kids to drive stick shift as she worked as a school bus driver. She worked nights at Lee’s Photo Service in DesPlaines. She worked in the Park District in Wheeling for many years and also at Wheeling High School. E.W. and Jeanne moved to El Cajon, CA, and she taught Special Education students at a San Diego High School for over 20 years. Jeanne’s favorite career was being a mother, aunt, grandmother and a good friend. She loved having an open house in the neighborhood, especially on Christmas Eve. She loved attending any event her children or grandchildren were in and took great joy in that. She was a life-long White Sox and Green Bay Packer fan. Jeanne loved listening to Frank Sinatra and The Glenn Miller Orchestra. Jeanne is survived by her three sons, David (Claudia nee Bakas) Eaton, Leonard M. (Linda nee Campbell) Eaton, Jim (Linda nee Alton) Eaton; nine grandchildren, Thomas W. Jr., Jeffrey, Andrew, Patrick, Krista, Stephannie, Scott (Laura), Kevin (Laura), Keith; four great-grandchildren, Allishia, Isabella, Emma, Kendra; her sister, Dorothy (Hugh) Hoyle; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Earlen, son, Thomas W. Eaton Sr., daughter-in-law, Beverly J. Eaton nee Sutton, sister, Margaret (the late Harold) Palmer, and her brother, Joseph H. Giannini. A memorial visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017, at Justen Funeral Home & Crematory, 3700 W. Charles J. Miller Road, McHenry, IL 60050. The funeral service will be 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home. The cremation rite was accorded privately. Interment will be private.
