Joseph E. Joseph

Joseph Elias Joseph, 89, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, December 12, 2017, in Providence VA Medical Center. He was the husband of the late Margaret (Harris) Joseph. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late Elias and Weeda (Mona) Joseph. Joe and his family resided in Woonsocket and Burrillville. Joe started working as a young man for his father's cab company; Travelers Taxi in Woonsocket. He was known to all as "Taxi Joe". He also worked for Owens Corning Fiberglass of Ashton. Joe served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He is survived by two sons: Joseph Joseph Jr. of Harrisville and Thomas Joseph of Pascoag; six daughters: Kathleen Basilico of Johnston, Margaret Sawyer of Mountain City, TN, Christine Joseph, Linda Lamoureux and Jo-Anne Cabral, all of Woonsocket and Karen Nadeau of Harrisville; a sister Agnes Joseph of Woonsocket; fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late John Joseph, Dorothy Cornelison, and Doris Rowey. Visitation for Joe will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 4 to 7 PM in the Boucher Funeral Home, 272 Sayles Ave., Pascoag. Inurnment service with military honors will be held, Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 at 11AM in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, 314 Wrentham Rd., Bellingham, MA.
