Jerry Peters Obituary

Jerry Peters passed away Saturday, May 13th at 4:40 am. Jerry was born the oldest of nine children to Stanley Jerome Peters and Anna Peters in Grenada on May 16, 1956.

As a young child, Jerry attended Bealieu Roman Catholic Primary school then matriculated to Saint Georges Methodist Secondary school. He had a passion for helping people and he was able to do that in the cable and wireless industry before relocating to the United States in the early 1980’s. He wore many titles: husband, dad, brother, son, friend, and, perhaps his most well-known title, was “Jack of All Trades “. He worked as a cab driver then a longshoreman. He was a consummate self-learner who was very motivated, and as a result acquired many trades. Jerry eventually became an independent contractor, who took great pride in his work.

He was a hard worker who made sure his family was well taken care of. Shelia “Simply the Best” met Jerry “The Best of Times”, and a new and exciting love story began. The two were inseparable from the beginning and spent the next few years traveling and enjoying life and each other. Jerry dedicated over a decade honing his skills as an electrician, carpenter, plumber, and remained the best “Handy Man Ever” He used his skills to be successful and tackled projects around the house with his wife Shelia. Later when Jerry became very ill Sheila stayed at his bedside and made sure he was given the best of care. She would feed him, read to him, and sit by his beside for hours until he fell asleep.

On Saturday May 13, 2023, God saw fit to take Jerry home. …. Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Sheila, his mother, Anna, three sons Lyndon, Lyncoln, and Joshua, and one daughter Jewel. Eight siblings, Jerome, Ann -Jerry, Ann-Lee, Paul, Ann Evangeline, Joshua, Deborah, and Eunice, devoted stepchildren and their spouses, Debbie and Darrell, Bernie and Reginald, Margarita, and Richard, Teresa, and Leroy, Edwin, Nicolas, Ervin, and Tony, Sharon, and a host of loving and supportive family members including 13 grandchildren, one great grandchild (Milan), brothers and sisters-in-law and a host of relatives and friends.
