Lyance "Bo" Savage, Sr.

<p>Lyance “Bo” Savage, Sr., 89, of Hamburg, died Monday, May 15, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. “Bo Bo,” as most people called him, was a native of Sumpter, Arkansas, and a resident of the Martinville Community, north of Hamburg, for most of his life. Bo was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict from 1953 until 1955. He worked as a Lathe Operator for the Georgia-Pacific Plywood Mill, having retired in February 1999. Bo was a member of the Martinville Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Song Leader and held many other positions in the church. </p><p>He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Dorothy Jean Martin Savage in 2022; his parents, Joe Corkin and Sallie Durey Savage; five brothers, J.C. Savage, Boyd Savage, Lawrence Savage, Orrel Savage, and Jerry Savage and three sisters, Vada Moses, Elroy Kirkland, and Nancy Shaver. </p><p>He is survived by two sons, Lyance “Buzzy” Savage, Jr. and wife, Melanie, of Snyder and Barry Savage and wife, Crystal, of Hamburg; a brother, Eddie Dean Savage of Hamburg; two sisters, Jackie Brooks and Chryl Slocum and husband, Eugene, all of Fountain Hill; two grandchildren, Tiffany LeeAnn Savage and Hastin Brady Savage and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. </p><p>Funeral services are 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at the Martinville Baptist Church with Bro. Ryan McRae and Bro. Clayton Hales officiating. A private burial will be in the Hamburg Cemetery. Pallbearers are Jim Hudson, Larry Hudson, Paul Gulledge, Neil Martin, Mason Savage, and Ricky Savage. Honorary pallbearer is John Martin. Memorials may be made to the Martinville Baptist Church, c/o Barry Savage, 129 Wright Street, Hamburg, AR&nbsp; 71646. </p><p>Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. </p>
