David Hertzfeld, 79, of Waterville Ohio passed away on Saturday May 13, 2023. He was born July 15, 1943, to Clarence and Alice (Kuebbeler) Hertzfeld. He married Janet (Klein) Hertzfeld on November 26, 1966, and she survives in Waterville, Ohio.

David was a lifelong poultry farmer and co-owner of his family’s business Hertzfeld Poultry Farms. He enjoyed being outdoors and was considered a handyman. He loved to color and work on puzzles. David had a love for sports, especially The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed attending the sporting events of his kids and grandchildren. He was an Air Force Veteran, a member of St. John XXIII in Perrysburg, Ohio and was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Swanton, Ohio.

Along with his beloved wife of 56 years Janet Hertzfeld, Dave is survived by his children Shawna (Scott) Gebhart, Eric (Janis) Hertzfeld, Kevin (Tracy) Hertzfeld, and Chad (Jennifer) Hertzfeld, grandchildren Lindsay Gebhart, Allison (Joshua) Lindke, Jared Gebhart, Grace Hertzfeld, Anna Hertzfeld, Drew Hertzfeld, Brynn Hertzfeld, Joshua Hertzfeld and Alex Hertzfeld, siblings Philip (Jackie) Hertzfeld, Barbara (Gene) Heising, Clarence II (Kathie) Hertzfeld and William (Leslie) Hertzfeld.

David was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Mary Alice Hertzfeld, brother Robert Hertzfeld, Thomas Hertzfeld, Frank Hertzfeld and sister Diane Heuerman.

His funeral service will be held on Friday May 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Johns XXIII, 24250 Dixie Highway Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. Visitation will be held Friday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the mass at 11:00 a.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home in Waterville, Ohio. The family will have a private burial at a later date.
