Jean Holloway Obituary

Marcella "Jean" Hughes Holloway, 86 year old Fort Supply resident, died May 13, 2023 in Woodward, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 18, 2023 in the Billings Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Lance Ashmore officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Marcella Jean (Hughes) Holloway was born September 2, 1936 to Edward and Lillie (Smith) Hughes at Fort Supply, Oklahoma. She graduated from Fort Supply High School in May of 1954. She married Bobby Leroy Holloway on November 9, 1954 in Woodward, Oklahoma. They were blessed with one son, Robert (Bobby Dee). They lived in Junction City, Kansas from 1954 to 1956 while Bob was in the service. They lived in Borger, Texas from 1956 to 1958 where he worked for Phillips Petroleum. They moved back to Fort Supply in 1958. Jean worked for Western State Hospital from 1958 until her retirement in 1987.

Jean was a member of the Fort Supply Methodist Church. She enjoyed helping with anything church related and loved working with the Fort Supply Alumni Association, where she was treasurer for several years. She loved family reunions, and loved her family (all of them).

Jean is survived by her husband, Bob Holloway of the home; one son, Bobby Dee and wife LaNita of Woodward; two brothers, Howard Hughes and wife Carole; Lloyd Hughes and wife Cathy of Madill, Oklahoma; brother-in-law Donnie Holloway and wife Marthella of Enid, Oklahoma; two sister-in-laws, Wanda Swanson and husband James of Sachse, Texas; and Carolyn Holloway of Moore, Oklahoma; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. She tried to count them all and lost count.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Lillie Hughes; mother and father- in-law Margie and Dee Holloway; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Boots Hughes; sister Edwina "Sis" Laird; brother-in-law Rodney Holloway, sister-in-law Phyllis Holloway; and nieces Dawn Horning and Brenda Hoffman

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Place with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
