Wayne Alan Coomer, 67, of Abilene, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 14, 2017. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at the Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene, 7457 West Lake Road, directed by Abilene Funeral Home.
He was born Dec. 25th, 1949 in Lubbock Texas, to his loving parents Preston and Helen Coomer. Wayne was raised in Muleshoe, Texas. After graduating from Muleshoe High School in 1968 he joined the U. S. Air Force. He was stationed in the Philippines during the Vietnam War. Wayne spent the rest of his life working hard and loving his family. His greatest joys in life were his children, grandchildren, close friends, and his relationship with Jesus Christ.
Left to cherish his memories include his son Toby Coomer and wife, Maranda; his daughter, Amanda Zellner and husband, Sean; three grandchildren, Destiny Clem, Gus Zellner and Zoe Zellner; his siblings, Carolyn Knox and Ronald Coomer; and life long friends, Allen, Marty and Debbie Davis.
The family will receive friends and relatives at a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Monday before the service at Abilene Funeral Home Chapel of Hope, 3349 north 12th Street.
