Passed peacefully away on May 7, 2023, Arthur William Langdon at Carmelite House, in Grand Falls-Windsor, NL. He was 79 years of age. Mr. Langdon retired from his work with the Department of Transportation.
He was predeceased by his parents Herbert and Ida Langdon; brothers Ralph, David and Douglas; parents-in-law Ron and Mildred Burt; brother-in-law Barry Burt; sisters-in-law Judy Burt and Madonna Langdon.
Arthur had a passion for fishing, especially salmon fishing. He loved serving his Community in a number of various ways, helping with the Breakfast program at the school, and was a very active member of the 50 Plus Club, Lodge, Lions Club and the Royal Canadian Legion. Arthur was awarded the “Melvin Jones Fellow" award from the Lions Club and was also given the Citizen of the Year award from the Town of Botwood.
Arthur loved life in general and loved his family deeply.
He leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years Lillian (Burt) Langdon and their only son Shawn: sister Wavey (John) Penton; brother Randolph (Judy) Langdon; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank the Staff of the Central Newfoundland Regional Hospital and the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor for their compassionate care and support during Arthur's time there.
Donations in Arthur's memory can be made to the Trinity United Church, Botwood.
