Mary Elizabeth Scott Obituary

Mary Norman Louise Scott, 94 of Easton, Maryland was called to her eternal home on May 6, 2023, after a brief illness at the Talbot Hospice in Easton.  She was the youngest daughter of the Late Margaret Scott Walley and Norman Scott.   Affectionately, Mary answered to several names: Grandmom Mary, Aunt Mary, NoWe and Mother Scott.   She was educated in Talbot County at the Historic Old Moton on Port Street.

At the tender age of 73, Aunt Mary decided to return to school to get her GED. She furthered her education by studying Computer Science.  Always giving of her time, she volunteered at the Neighborhood Center, and Operation Christmas alongside her son, Scotty. Aunt Mary was an avid baker, who loved to bake cakes and other goodies.  She also loved to spend time with family, especially when Diane would have family gatherings.

Mother Scott loved the Lord.  She was a faithful servant of Mt. Pisgah, always lending a hand when and wherever needed.  On June 16, 2012, she became a devoted member of Emmanuel Deliverance Center under the divine leadership of Apostle Juanita Wharton-Church, where she became a Missionary and Senior Church Mother.

Aunt Mary leaves to cherish her memories with one granddaughter, Shalonda Batson; great grandchildren: Jaimont, Jonas, Sha’Carra and Carl all of Killeen, TX; 1 brother: Walter Walley, Sr.; special nieces: Beverly, Marcia, Diane, Stephanie, Bridgette and Dawn; nephews: Ronnie, Rickey, Jonathan and Devel; her church family, a special friend, Elaine Greene and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mary is preceded in death by her son, Lord Scott, Sr. (Sheldon); grandson, Lord Scott, Jr; her parents, Margaret Scott Walley and Norman Scott; her stepfather, Percy Walley, Sr.; sisters: Minnie Lewis, Pauline Scott, Helen Walley, Marian Kellum; and brothers: Percy Walley, Jr., and John Walley.

The family would like to thank Beverly for the special love and care given to Aunt Mary.
