Ernest Alphonse Lizotte

<p>Ernest A. Lizotte 90, of Lebanon, Maine, passed away on April 24, 2023, at his daughter’s home in Sanford Maine.</p><p><br></p><p>Ernest was born in Lebanon, Maine on December 13, 1932, to Alphonse and Alice Marie (Johnson) Lizotte. On October 23, 1953, he married the love of his life Ethel, however on February 24, 1955, he was called upon to serve our country and was drafted into the Army. He took his commitment seriously and was proud to wear the uniform and protect the rights of all Americans.</p><p><br></p><p>He lived in Lebanon his entire life where he raised his family. He loved to hunt, cut wood, grow his vegetable garden, and was always on the lookout for those snakes. He loved making his maple syrup and sharing that experience with family and friends. He was a faithful man dedicating his life to the Lord, his family, his friends, and his community.</p><p><br></p><p>He started his career with RJ Watkins Construction and retired as the Manager of the Sanford Sewer District</p><p><br></p><p>Ernest was always the first to help out whenever there was a need, whether it be a neighbor who ran out of wood to heat their home, an extra pair of hands to help get the hay in before it rained, or to start the fire at the church before Sunday morning worship to make sure it was warm for everyone before they arrived. Everyone knew if they called “Ernie” he would be there. He won an award for his outstanding service to the Lebanon community for his umpiring. He watched countless kids play baseball and then watched as their kids did the same. There was no arguing when he called a strike, he knew the rules of the game.</p><p><br></p><p>Ernest is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Ethel Lizotte and son Gregory Lizotte. His brother Roger Lizotte and sister Jeanine Lizotte Blaisdell. James Knowles and Patricia Prentice.</p><p><br></p><p>Ernest is survived by his daughters, Alice and husband Bruce Earle of Farmington, NH, Karen and husband Frank Smith of Sanford, Maine, his sons, Ernest and his wife Bobbie Lizotte of Lebanon Maine, Gary and his wife Mary Lizotte of Stoneham MA, Brian and his companion Kim Abrams, foster son, Guy Welch of Sanford, Maine. 17 Grandchildren, 24 Great grandchildren, and 6 Great Great Grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>Graveside services will be held on May 20th @ 1pm at 174 Emery Mills Road Lebanon Maine followed by a celebration of life, all are welcome to attend.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice in his name or pay it forward by doing a good deed.</p><p><br></p>
