<p>MAPLETON: Claude Veilleux 81, died peacefully on April 28, 2023 at the Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing Center. He was born on September 8, 1941, the son of Benonie and Antionette (Grandmason) Veilleux. Claude had a deep love of the great outdoors and all it had to offer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved four wheeling and snowmobiling. The woods were his calling and his livelihood reflected that. Claude was a logger, a skidder operator, a truck driver as well as operating heavy equipment. He worked for many different companies and people throughout his lifetime. These are things he mastered from his hardworking father and brothers passed down from generation to generation. Claude had many dear friends throughout his lifetime, He loved having fun, playing pranks, and telling all the stories that went along with it. One of morning rituals was going downtown and having coffee with friends and catching up with all the happenings of his little town of Mapleton. Claude leaves behind his two daughters; Nicole Wright of Gorham, and Paula Stevens of Mapleton, with his first wife Charlene Veilleux of Castle Hill, along with his grandchildren; Londyn Wright, Tyler Veilleux, and Melissa Carney, two great grandchildren Dyllon and Bryson Francis. Claude also leaves behind his love, Bonnie Walker of Mapleton of over 30 years who loved him unconditionally to the end, Bonnie’s children, Renee Good, Jane Tibbs, Ryan Tibbetts, and predeceased Frank Nelson, his brother Wilbrod Veilleux and his wife Lucienne Cloutier, his sister Colombe Veilleux, many nieces and nephews on his Canadian side. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Roch Veilleux and wife Olivette St. Pierre, a sister Sara Veilleux, all of De’gelis, Quebec. Our family would like to thank the staff at Presque Isle Rehab and Nursing for the amazing care and support given to our dad in the dementia unit. They are the most dedicated warriors that have been so faithful in caring for our loved one and making sure that our dad was comfortable and happy. Fly high Dad, your family in heaven awaits you. Go haul a load with Uncle Roch and Grampy. Sit in between Grammy and Aunt Sara as they play beautiful music on the piano. Give them a big kiss for us. We will miss you your smile and laughter. Until we meet again. There will be a celebration of life at the West Chapman Advent Christian Church on May 13, 2023 at 12 noon with Pastor Nathan Gardiner officiating. Friends may visit with the family at 11:00 AM until time of the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Bowers Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Presque Isle.
