Norway – Wesley Owen Smith, 63 of Norway passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 with his family by his side. Wes was born in Norway on July 15, 1959 the son of Wesley N. and Dorothy A. Roakes Smith. He graduated from Oxford Hills High School in 1977.

Wes was a trucker through and through, most notably for Ed Thayer Inc and for the past 20 years Everlast Roofing Inc.

He married Elizabeth Chandler on September 14, 1991. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working on cars. If you used his tools and didn’t put them back in their place you’d hear about it. He was very proud of his four children and their accomplishments in life.

Wes is survived by his wife Liz; his mother Dorothy Smith; his sons Wesley W. and his long time partner Jessica Warren, Tony and his wife Amber, Troy; his daughter Reba and partner Mike Shrier; brother in law Dana Chandler and his wife Pat; grandchildren; Jordan, Joey, Brigham, Stella, Hallie and Josie; his siblings; Marcia and partner Jerry, Mary and husband Dan Wilson, Wendell, Wayne and his wife Becky, several nieces and nephews; a large extended family; and many friends.

He was predeceased by his father; and his brother Warren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, May 1, 2023 at 1:00pm at Chandler Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 45 Main St., South Paris. Family and friends may attend visitation on Sunday from 3-5pm. Private burial will be held later in the spring at Highland Cemetery in West Poland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
