Linda Barbara Joy Kenway
<p>It is with broken hearts, the Kenway family announces the passing of Linda Barbara Joy at her home in Baine Harbour, with her husband Ross by her side, on Tuesday, April 25th, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>Linda was born at the old Burin cottage hospital to Mary and Hayward Matterface. Linda loved to be at her "Happy Place" at her cabin on Port Elizabeth. Where she would spend countless hours beach combing, searching for beach glass, marbles, buttons, anything that she could turn into beautiful art. She was a very devoted customer to Tim Hortons, she always loved her steeped tea, and was often teased about her obsession with Timmies. Linda was an outdoors person, winter and summer. She loved going into the woods for her boil ups, even though she would still have to take her own steeped tea from Tims.</p><p><br></p><p>Since learning of her cancer diagnosis 4 years ago, she faced it strong and fierce with such determination and grace, a true inspiration to others.</p><p><br></p><p>Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband of 46 years, Ross (Joe), her two daughters, Crystal (Lorne) & Lori (Stephen), her four grandchildren, Justin, Sophie, Kylee & Tyson. Her mother Mary Matterface, four brothers, Floyd (Francis), Ross (Diane), Claude (Darlene), Barry (Janice) plus a large circle of other family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Predeceased by her father Hayward Matterface, sister Sandra, nephews Cory & Nathan.</p><p><br></p><p>Flowers or donations to the family for a charity of their choice gratefully accepted.</p><p><br></p><p>Family will be accepting visitors at St. Marks Church in Baine Harbour on Thursday, April 27th, 2023. Family only, 9am until 11am, and public from 11am until 9pm, and Friday, April 28th, 2023 from 9am until 2pm.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral service to follow visitation on Friday April 28 at 3 pm</p><p><br></p><p>The Kenway Family would like to express their thanks to everyone who has helped in anyway during this difficult time. Especially to her home care workers Alice, Patsy, and her most recent volunteer caregiver, Claudette.
