Lorraine M. (Lawrence) Kinney Obituary

Lorraine M. (Lawrence) Kinney, 72, passed away April 21, 2023, on her mother's birthday, they are now home together again. She was born November 4, 1950, the daughter of Barbara (Welch) and Bernie Swimm, of Monticello, and Everett "Spin" Lawrence, of Bridgewater.

In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her sister, Roberta "Bobby" Hogan; her infant brother, Tommy Lawrence; long term partner, Dennis "Denny" Gallop; and a great-grandson, Kamdon.

Lorraine is survived by her dog, Big D; her daughter, Lori Jewell and her husband, Allen, of Monticello, and their son, Ethan, of Houlton; sons, Richard (Morgan) Kinney and his daughter, Erica, and Jirad Kinney and his children, Mayce and Dawson; sister, Lynne McNinch and her husband, Daniel, of Monticello; nephews, Jacob Hovey and Lucas McGary, and their families; as well as her sister Roberta's family, Jon Bridges, Brady Bridges, Paul Albright, and their families.

She had many friends and family members, too many nieces, nephews, and cousins to name.

Aside from her family, she loved her dogs, as well as her friends, who will remember Lorraine as a real "hoot." She loved her home at Sugarloaf Court, the apartment Denny made for her.

Special thanks to the Doctors, nurses, and staff at Houlton Regional Hospital and Madigan Estates, for taking such good care of Lorraine. If she called you an "A-hole," it was hard to say if she liked you or she didn't! She had many special friends and those included her supporters from Aroostook Home Health.

A celebration of Lorraine's life will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, May 6, 2023, at Wilderness Pines Campground, 83 2-1015, Monticello. Interment will be with her brother, Tommy, at the Smith Cemetery in Bridgewater, overlooking her childhood farm on Bunker Hill.

Those wishing to remember Lorraine in a special way may make donations in her memory to the ASPCA, or charity of their choice, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park St. Houlton, ME 04730. Condolences to the family may be expressed at DunnFuneral.com
