Nancy Karen Dengel, age 81, of Oil City, earned her wings to meet the ones she loves, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at UPMC Hospital Northwest.

Born in Warren, PA, on March 18, 1942, she was a daughter to the late Burdette Frank Gray and Ruth Bell Kiffer.

Nancy attended Warren Area Schools and was a 1973 Titusville High School Graduate. She continued her education by attending Edinboro University.

Ms. Dengel worked as a preschool teacher for Head Start for many years.

Nancy was a devoted member of St. Stephen Church, a part of St. Joseph Parish. She was a Rosary Society Member.

She was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of the Blind; she had a passion for helping people with vision problems. She loved art, reading, and crossword puzzles. Her faith meant a lot to her. She loved people and loved her children and grandchildren more than ever.

Surviving is one son, Joseph B. Dengel and his wife Kris of Rouseville; 8 grandchildren, Joey, Matthew, Brookelynn, Jacob, Kristen, Nicolas, Sam, and Emilee; and two great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, preceding Nancy in death are a daughter, Lori Lee King, two grandsons, Sean King and Alex King, her significant other, Burton Melat, and two brothers, Burdette Gray and James Gray.

There will be no visitation or services.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Nancy would like to thank everyone who helped her in her later years.
