LEE — Lottie Marie Stevens, age 85, went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2023. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her sons,

daughters-in-law, grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was born on July 2, 1937, the only daughter of Paul and Mattie Pelkey of Caribou and sister to one older brother Richard. The Pelkey family moved to Mattawamkeag when she was young and lived there until she met and married Hartley Stevens of Lee on July 7, 1956. They were married for 53

years and raised five boys in Lee. Later, she lived in Lincoln at

Mattanawcook Terrace for seven years where she made some wonderful friends in the senior community. Lottie was a very independent and thriving senior who loved what she called (Ram the roads)! She loved going out to eat at any chance she got and especially loved her lobster rolls! She was a very faithful and dedicated Christian who loved her church family and selflessly cared for many. She was a friend to all and was loved and respected by everyone that knew her. In May of‘22 when her health prevented her from living independently, she then

moved back to Lee into her old home of more than 30 years, where she was cared for by her youngest son Glenn and his wife Heather. Many family members and friends also helped support Lottie during this time. Lottie was a pillar of the community and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her five sons: Paul, David and wife Jamie, Gary and wife Dorcas, Mark, Glenn and wife Heather. Her 17 grandkids, 14 great-grandchildren, and special lifelong best friend and sister-in-law Gloria Staples.

celebrate her homegoing at Howland Baptist Church, 5 Penobscot Ave. in Howland, Maine on April 15th at 1:00 pm for the viewing and funeral at 2:00pm. Refreshments and fellowship to follow.
