<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Shirley Mae Holtz, 91, formerly of Algoma, passed away Monday April 3, 2023, at Alpha Senior Concepts in Howard after a long battle with dementia with her family at her side.&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was born March 11, 1932, in Algoma to the late Jacob and Lucy (Fabry) Kostichka. Shirley graduated from the Algoma High School in 1950. </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was a hostess for many years at the Hotel Stebbins before working as a secretary for a number of doctors in Algoma.&nbsp; Shirley ended up working for Dr. Ancheta for about 25 years.&nbsp; After his death she worked at Weber Insurance for five years. </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Shirley loved her time watching her children and grandchildren playing sports in grade school, high school and college, was a lover of music, singing and harmonizing with her daughter, Ann, singing in a quartet for many years, living along Lake Michigan, gardening her flowers and plants and was an avid Packer fan including attending the "Ice Bowl".&nbsp;&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Shirley was a devoted Catholic and was a long-time member of St. Mary Church and the Rosary Society.<br> Shirley is survived by her three children Kurt (Peggy), Green Bay; Ann Marra (special friend Marty), Green Bay; and Kris (Kelly), Green Bay; 10 grandchildren Shaina, Mykala (Nate) Schwarz, Aadyn, Lauren, Kaleb, Kristin (Wes) Powers, AJ Marra, Kai and Kannyn; one great grandson Oliver Schwarz; one brother Bob (Kathy) Kostichka, MN; sister-in-law Diane (Blackie) Delwiche and many nieces and nephews. </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;She was preceded in death by her parents, Rollie, son Steve, siblings Ruth (Fritz) Bader, Carol (Charlie) Densow and Lucille (Johnny) Graf. </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;There will be a public visitation, Monday, April 10, 2023, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Algoma, from 8:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM with Father Andrew Kurz officiating. </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery to follow. </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Shirley's beautiful smile and warm personality will be missed by all who knew her. </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The family wants to give a special thank you to all of her caregivers who were there for her final journey. </p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;The Schinderle Funeral Home, Algoma, was honored to help with the arrangements for the Holtz family.&nbsp; Express your sympathy, memories and pictures on Shirley's tribute page at www.schinderlefuneralhome.com. </p><p>&nbsp; </p>

     Shirley Mae Holtz, 91, formerly of Algoma, passed away Monday April 3, 2023, at Alpha Senior Concepts in Howard after a long battle with dementia with her family at her side. 

     She was born March 11, 1932, in Algoma to the late Jacob and Lucy (Fabry) Kostichka. Shirley graduated from the Algoma High School in 1950.

     She was a hostess for many years at the Hotel Stebbins before working as a secretary for a number of doctors in Algoma.  Shirley ended up working for Dr. Ancheta for about 25 years.  After his death she worked at Weber Insurance for five years.

     Burial in the Evergreen Cemetery to follow.

     Shirley's beautiful smile and warm personality will be missed by all who knew her.
