Valerie A. Thomas Obituary

Valerie A. (Stabile) Thomas, 73, of North Providence, passed away peacefully on March 30th, 2023. She was the wife of the late George A. Thomas Jr.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Anna (Nobile) Stabile.

Valerie was a nurse at St. Joseph’s/Fatima Hospital for 42 years. She was dedicated to her family, her church (St. George’s Maronite), her dog (Brandi), and the New York Yankees throughout her entire life.

She leaves behind her only child, George A. Thomas III, and his wife Christine Thomas of Johnston; two cherished grandchildren, George A. Thomas IV, and Benjamin A. Thomas. She was the sister of Leonard Stabile, Anna Riley and of the late David, John and Joseph Stabile.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Fatima Hospital, Morgan Health and Rehab Center, and Continuum Hospice for the care they provided Valerie over the last few months.

Visitation will take place Wednesday morning, April 5, from 8am until 10am in the "WOODLAWN" Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston, with the Divine Liturgy at 11am in St. George Maronite Church, Cranston. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704 Hagerstown, MD 21741 will be appreciated.
