Linda Henson

<p>Linda Marie Henson (64) of Mesa, Arizona passed away peacefully in the presence of the Holy Spirit and surrounded by the love of her family on the evening of March 29, 2023 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.</p><p><br></p><p>Linda was born May 30, 1958 in Bay City, Michigan, the youngest of three siblings. She resided in Midland, Michigan and graduated from Merrill High School in 1976. She attended Delta College until deciding to head west and move to Mesa, Arizona in 1977 at the age of 19.</p><p><br></p><p>Soon after arriving in Arizona, Linda met her one true love, Kerry Henson. They were married on April 12, 1980 and together they shared 29 beautiful years until Kerry’s passing on October 7, 2009. Kerry and Linda were richly blessed by the birth of their daughter Sara on October 29, 1993. The greatest joy of Linda’s life was being Sara’s mother.</p><p><br></p><p>Linda worked at K-Mart until her transition into banking at Arizona Bank. She began as a Teller and held various positions throughout her banking tenure. Moving on from banking, she worked at a Hallmark Shop and at Christ the King Catholic School as the Lunch Coordinator. Her last place of employment was at Equitable Home Mortgage until her retirement in January of 2022 to focus on her health issues. Throughout Linda’s working years her most notable role was that of a mother and homemaker.</p><p><br></p><p>Linda was an active member of the Christ the King Catholic community. She enjoyed serving the needs of the Parish and she used her many talents volunteering for multiple positions and ministries, some of which included Art and Environment Committee, Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Christ Renews His Parish Ministry and as Coach of the Girls Volleyball Team. Linda had the honor of serving on the St. Peregrine Cancer Shrine Committee and participated in its conception and planning until the shrine was dedicated on November 22, 2009.</p><p><br></p><p>One of Linda’s favorite pastimes was shopping. Linda had an eye for detail and loved finding the best deal, whether at a store shopping, a garage sale or at the swap meet. She enjoyed putting great thought into birthday and Christmas gifts. She had a knack for picking out the most appropriate cards, ensuring that each person that received a card from her felt very special, important, valued and loved.</p><p><br></p><p>Linda is preceded in death by her husband Kerry Henson, mother Leona Monson-Epperson, brother-in-law Karl Henson and brother-in-law Evan Henson.</p><p><br></p><p>Linda is survived by her daughter Sara and husband William Mitchell, father Maynard Monson and Carol, brother Maynard (Joe) Monson and wife Gisele, sister Connie Monson, sister-in-law Tammie Henson, sister-in-law Karyl Richards and husband Jeff, sister-in-law Kathleen Henson and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Linda will never be forgotten, we will hold her in our memories forever. She will best be remembered for her beautiful smile, her warm and loving heart, her love of our Lord, her courageous spirit and her ardent devotion to her precious daughter Sara.</p><p><br></p><p>Mass of Christian Burial is Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church 1551 E. Dana Avenue, Mesa, Arizona.</p><p><br></p><p>Burial service is at 12:30 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery 1562 E.
