Conward Edgar Farmer Wartburg, Tennessee Obituary

Conward Edgar Farmer

Conward Edgar Farmer (87) of Maryville, TN went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2023, at his son’s home, surrounded by his loving family. Conward was born in Haysi, Virginia to the late Earl H. and Ruby Farmer. During the years of 1954-1958, he served as an Aircraft Maintenance Mechanic for the Air Force. After his service for our country, he married Imogene Ford Farmer on October 15, 1960. Together they shared 53 wonderful years of marriage and had two children, Michael and Stephen Farmer. Conward also dedicated 20 years of his life traveling the country as a Greyhound bus driver. Conward, known to his family and friends as C.E. or Con, was one of the strongest Christians you will ever meet and loved the Lord more than anything. He was a member of the Mountain View Church of Christ, where he dedicated over ten years serving as an elder. He spent some of his best days beekeeping in the mountains of east Tennessee and loved spending time with his family. If you ever caught him in the car, it was probably on the way to McDonald’s to get a cup of black coffee, headed to get a crossword puzzle from the local gas station, or grabbing a cup of chili (with one hot sauce) and a medium chocolate frosty from Wendy’s.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, and best friend, Imogene.

Surviving are his sons: Conward Michael (Pat) and Stephen Edgar (Susan); Grandchildren: Brittany Friant (Payton), Jonathan Farmer (Robin), Sara Hammond (Brad), David Farmer (Ashley) and Amanda Farmer; Great-Grandchildren: Claire Friant and Amelia Friant.
