<p>On August 9, 1944, a baby girl was born to Hamon and Lovie Wright, in Chilton, Texas.&nbsp;They named her Martha Lee. She was the oldest of 11 children. </p><p>Martha attended Hobbs Public Schools and was active in sports until her junior year in high school. She moved to Chilton, TX., where she graduated from Wilson White High School. </p><p>She then met and married Jerry Benson, and to this union, she had two sons, Gerald Bernard and Cornell Larince.&nbsp; </p><p>Martha and family moved to Dallas, TX., where she pursued a career in modeling. Later, she was employed by Texas Instruments, where she retired, after laboring for the company for more than twenty years. After her son graduated, she returned to work for Baylor Memorial Hospital, until she had to move back to Hobbs after recovering from a near-death threatening accident. After recovering from the life jeopardizing incident, she attended New Mexico Junior College and continued her journey in life, until God called her eternally home. </p><p>She leaves to mourn her death, one grandson — David Benson; and one great-grandson — David Benson Jr., both of Dallas, TX.; three sisters, Emma (China) Smith, Marilyn Johnson, and LaTamya Wright, all of Hobbs, NM; four brothers, Kenneth Wright, Hamon (Joe) Wright, Apostle Terrell Wright, and Pastor Keith Wright, all of Hobbs; three uncles, Joe Luis McKee, Douglas MacAuther McKee, and Pastor Oscar McKee, all of Chilton, TX., a life long friend, Turk; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. </p><p>She was preceded in death by her two sons; Gerald and Cornell. Parents; Hamon and Lovie Mae Wright. A sister, Gloria (Princess) Wright; Two brothers, Sammy Ray Wright and Bobby Darren Wright, Sr.; Grandparents, Robert and Lovie McKee, Hamon Wright, Emma Wright, and other relatives. </p><p>Visitation for Martha will be Thursday, April 13, 2023 from 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at Calvary Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.&nbsp; </p><p>Funeral services will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 at 2 p.m. at New Creation Apostolic Center Church with Pastor Oscar McKee officiating. Committal burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. </p><p>Services have been entrusted to Calvary Memorial Funeral Home of Hobbs, New Mexico. &nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p>

Obituary
