Emily Louise Amiro Obituary

AMIRO Emily Louise -age 83, of Brooklyn, Yarmouth County, Nova Scotia, passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on March 25, 2023. Born in Chebogue Point, Yarmouth Co., she was a daughter to the late Arthur and Geneva (Robicheau) Nickerson. Emily was a kind-hearted individual who enjoyed sewing and knitting. She spent many years as a military wife travelling with her husband James. Although a homemaker for most of her life she worked for a brief period in Gagetown helping soldiers do laundry and for a time in a hospital in West Germany. Even though Emily had no children of her own she loved to babysit others. She is survived by her husband James; brother, Harry Nickerson; sister, Lois Lacain; siblings, Burton Amiro, Larry (Fiona) Amiro, Maureen Mansell; in-laws, Rosaline Amiro, and Richard Maynard. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sisters, Victoreen Smith and Margaret Porter; sisters-in-law, Doreen Nickerson, and Florence Maynard; brothers-in-law, Billy LaCain, Irvin Amiro, George Amiro, and Fred Mansel. Cremation has taken place under the care of Sweeny’s Funeral Home and Crematorium, Yarmouth. A graveside service will be held in Chebogue Cemetery at a later date with Rev. A.D. “ Bill” Newell officiating. Donations in memory may be made to the Chebogue Cemetery.
