<p>Theresa Eileen Barrie </p><p>Florence </p><p>It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Eileen Barrie, age 96, on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at the Cove Guest Home in Sydney. </p><p>Born in Florence on September 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary Ellen (MacLean) Barrie. </p><p>She was a member of St. Stephen’s Parish, Florence, and Branch 83 Legion. She also enjoyed the Sydney Mines Day Care Program. </p><p>Anyone who knew Theresa knew that she loved her Bingo and card games, along with music and dancing, but most of all, she loved spending time with her only daughter Frances Mitchelitis. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Gordon, Dawn, Noreen, and Mary Katherine, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and very special friends John Francis MacKinnon, Debbie, Leahann, and Jerry. </p><p>Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her grandson Anthony, husband Aubrey MacKinnon, brothers John James, William, Frank, Alphonse, and Anthony, and her sisters Mary Eileen, Cecilia, and Margaret. </p><p>Her daughter would like to thank Dr. Andrew Wawer, the Cove Guest Home, and Linda at Capital Drugs for taking good care of her mother. </p><p>At her request, there will be no visitation. Born in Florence on September 4, 1926, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Mary Ellen (MacLean) Barrie.
