<p>Farmington- Rosalie Ella (Muller) Mueller, 81, of 88 Scott Swamp Road, Farmington, died on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at her home, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's Disease. She was the beloved wife of Harry M. Mueller, Jr. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; She was born in Torrington on July 3, 1941, daughter of the late Walter and Ella (Iffland) Muller. She attended Torrington High School and the University of Connecticut, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 1963 and a Master of Arts in 1971. After several years in Westchester and Fairfield Counties, she and her husband settled in Harwinton, where they raised their children and resided for 35 years. Following the passing of her father in 2003, they purchased her family’s homestead in Torrington, and in 2014 they moved to the Village Gate retirement community in Farmington. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Torrington. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; She taught child development and consumer economics at Torrington High School for 25 years, and touched the lives of hundreds of students. Eventually, her health forced her to take an early retirement. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In retirement, she and her husband enjoyed travel. In addition to Canada and Bermuda, they visited some 20 countries in Europe and western Asia. They attended the world-renowned Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany, in 2000 and 2010. They particularly enjoyed the Christmas markets of Germany and Austria which they visited nearly every year for as long as their health permitted. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by a son and daughter, Harry and Deborah Mueller of Durham, NH; a daughter and son, Katherine and Jonathan Behm, of Marshfield, MA; five grandchildren, Hannah, Leah, and Sidge Mueller, and Julia and Christopher Behm; a brother, Kenneth Muller of New Hartford; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a brother, Wilhelm “Bill” Muller. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The family wishes to express gratitude to Caregiving by Kathy and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 10:30a.m. from Gleeson-Ryan Funeral Home, 258 Prospect St., Torrington, to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St., Torrington, for a Service at 11:00a.m. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery, Torrington. There will be no calling hours. </p><p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 837 Charles St., Torrington, CT 06790-3425, or to a charity of the donor’s choice. </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p><p>&nbsp; </p>
