James J. Brusky, age 98, of Tomahawk, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, March 25, 2023. Jim was born in Marshfield, WI, on July 25, 1924, to the late Adam and Annette (Gotstein) Brusky. He was married to Eleanor Doll on October 18, 1951; she preceded him in death on March 17, 2011.

Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, serving in WWII. After serving in the Army, he worked as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service in Marshfield until his retirement. Jim was a faithful member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and a life member of the American Legion Post 93 of Tomahawk.

Survivors include his sons, Warren (Mary) Rhyner, of Pennsylvania, and Mike Brusky, of Marshfield; his daughter, Cynde (Rhyner) Knapp-Cullen, of Shawano, WI; his brother, Thomas (Ruth) Brusky, of Whiting, NJ; and his sisters, Kathleen Schafer, of Sun City, FL, and Patricia Burns, of Newnan, GA. Jim is further survived by 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Annette; his wife, Eleanor; his daughters, Teri Lester and Barbara Schmitt; and his brothers, Fr. David Brusky, Gerald Brusky, and Harvey Brusky.

The family would like to thank his good friend and caregiver, Alicia Freeman, and his neighbors, Matt and Andi Koreen and Brian and Michelle Schiltz, that made it possible for Jim to live at his home on Lake Alice.

Memorial services for James Brusky will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 9:00 AM, at Generations Funeral Home. Deacon David Bablick will officiate. The family will receive friends for visitation following the service until 11:00 AM.  Generations Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
